Job Description

DirectShifts is seeking a Registered Nurse to work in New Orleans, LA

Job Summary: Establish and direct a comprehensive and functional Performance Improvement program ensuring compliance with existing regulations, standards, policies and procedures, both internal and external. Provides direct and indirect managerial integration of PI, IC, RM and the activities of the facility. Develop and implement policies and procedures that guide the provision of services within the hospital. Provide leadership and on-going communication within the hospital pertaining to performance improvement activities. Review hospital-wide ongoing activities pertaining to demonstrated improvement of performance to show the relative value to patient care quality. To recognize all customers of New Orleans East Hospital and strive to meet their needs.


Minimum Requirements:
  • 5 years RN clinical experience
  • Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program.
  • Familiar with JCAHO, CMS standards and regulations. Must be able to direct other people and have excellent analytical skills. Multi-tasking essential, exhibits professional judgment in the prioritizing of duties. Must be organized and possess proficient skills in verbal and written communication. Ability to create and maintain professional physician, co-worker & administrator relations. *Must be able to communicate on all levels from executive to entry level staff. Must be able to prepare for and conduct required committee meetings.
  • Must have knowledge of data analysis techniques and reporting methods. Must be proficient in presenting reports on an executive level in professional presentations. *Must keep informed on JCAHO Standards, CMS Regulations, CDC, IHI and State Regulations and changes of same.
  • Must be able to perform simple and complicated data analysis based on clinical findings. *Must have experience in data collection and PDCA methodology. The use of software programs and typing skills is essential *Must have Knowledge of various quality resources such as: the NIH, JCAHO, CDC, CMS, IHI and other professional organizations. Proficient in English. Verbal and written communication skills, and computer skills required.
  • Basic Life Support/CPR, Registered Nurse
Preferred/ Desired:
  • 3 years in Quality/ Performance Improvement/Leadership
  • BSN, MSN, MHA
  • Advance Cardiac Life Support
