Full time Director of Behavioral Health needed at a top facility in New Mexico!

Job Description: The Director of this unit demonstrates clinical knowledge in psychiatric nursing and is expected to lead the unit with a reasonable degree of independence. Direct line of report is to CNO for nursing functions. Manages the daily unit activities and nursing staff. Responsible for assisting Administration in implementing hospital/departmental and/or service line goals within the nursing unit. Accountable for service quality within overall guidelines. Assesses, plans, evaluates and documents the clinical care nursing processes of the Mental Health Unit. Assigns duties to nursing staff based on patients' needs, available staff, and unit needs. Supervises, coaches and evaluates work performance of nursing staff in areas of patient care delivery, patient outcomes, customer relations and efficiency/effectiveness of service. Responsible for maintaining the established inventory standards for medicines, solutions, supplies, equipment, and correct use of narcotics. Responsible for maintaining educational and competency standards of nursing staff. Responsible for direct patient care as needed. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
* Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing with license in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse.
* Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred.
* Minimum of two years of clinical experience (preferably in the area of application); experience in patient care management preferred. Demonstrates leadership abilities; able to work under stressful situations. Possesses good oral and written communication skills. Demonstrate interpersonal relationships in a manner which enhances communication, promotes conflict resolutions, and facilitates staff development. Skill and knowledge to sustain and evaluate clinical competence in caring for the specific age and type of patient population served.
* Must possess a current NM license as a Registered Nurse or a multi-state compact license that allows the nurse to work in NM. BLS & ACLS required. CPI Certification must be obtained during week of NEO.
