Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
We are currently looking for a Full-Time, experienced, Director of Nursing who is responsible for the supervision and management of the Health Center including the Skilled Nursing Facility, Personal Care Unit and Outpatient Services Departments.
SCHEDULE:
- Full-Time, On-Call as necessary
- Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Directly supervises and evaluates all licensed staff, CNA’s, timekeeper/data entry clerk, medical records/central supply and outpatient receptionist
- Provides day-to-day hands on supervision and management of Skilled Nursing and PCU to assure excellent nursing care and nursing practice
- Make daily rounds in SNF and PCU to insure that changes in treatment are addressed
- Supervision of total resident care including: admission and orientation of new Skilled Nursing and Personal Care residents
- Responsible for planning, staffing and policy implementation of the Health Center
- Monitors and assures compliance with all Medicare requirements for facility participation and resident utilization
- Develop, implement and maintain an ongoing Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement Committee for the Skilled Nursing unit
- Maintains a reference library of written nursing materials that will assist the Nursing Service Department in the meeting of the residents day-to-day needs
- Participates in surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies. Reviews and develops a plan of correction for nursing services deficiencies noted during survey inspections, providing a written copy of compliance to the Health Care Administrator
- Supervises Private Duty nursing personnel in the Health Center. Assures that all Private Duty nursing personnel comply with regulatory requirements and Villa Marin’s own quality of care standards
- Assures that all required Policies and Procedures under Title 22; Federal OBRA and RCFE regulations are facilitated
- Develops methods of coordinating nursing services with other resident services to ensure the continuity of the residents’ total regiment of care
WHAT TO BRING
- Skill in dealing with geriatric patients and chronic care needs
- Knowledge of medical care equipment and its use and operations
- Current California licensure as a Registered Nurse
- Qualified to practice in the State of California as an RN
- Minimum of 1 to 3 years of nursing experience in an acute and/or geriatric setting with working knowledge of palliative care principles
- Minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience as a D.O.N. (Director of Nursing), ideally in a skilled nursing facility.
