Job Description
OB SUMMARY
Seeking a Full-Time Charge Nurse who can offer direction and assistance to the Licensed Vocational Nurse and Certified Nursing Assistants.
SCHEDULE:
- Full-time (80%)
- 3:00pm-11:30pm, 4 days on 2 days off (PM Shift)
- Will include some evenings, weekends, and holidays during the rotation
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to physicians’ order
- Respond to emergency situations and expedite indicated treatment, secure follow-up assistance
- Make rounds to insure that changes in treatment are addressed
- Visit residents by request to evaluate medical/emotional/nursing needs, pain management
- Inform Manager or Nursing/Doctor/Health Services Administrator of any events which may necessitate medical intervention
- Consult family members where indicated to insure that residents' needs are met
- Maintain records, charts, and files as required
- Assess need for additional help or services for residents, coordinating with other departments to meet needs
- Delegate and provide supervision and direction to the Licensed Vocational Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants as required
WHAT TO BRING:
- Broad based knowledge of nursing practices
- Skill in dealing with geriatric patients and chronic care needs.
- Knowledge of medical care equipment and its use and operation.
- Sensitivity and understanding of issues related to aging.
- Current California licensure as a Registered Nurse
- Qualified to practice in the State of California as an RN
- Minimum of one year nursing experience in an acute and/or geriatric setting
