Currently looking to hire a Registered Nurse or Medical Technologist (ASCP) to manage Infection Control. This person is responsible for ensuring compliance with state, federal and accrediting agency standards relating to infection control. Reports to the Director of Quality Management and Regulatory Compliance. Responsible for the planning, development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of the hospital wide infection control program. He/she collaborates with and acts as a consultant for the department managers and staff. Advises, implements and evaluates measures necessary to prevent the spread of infections within the hospital and community.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
* Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor of Science degree preferred or a graduate of an accredited school of Medical Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree. Completes a basic infection control course within the first year of entering the position or has completed the course prior to position.
* Registered Nurse or Medical Technologist. Certification in Infection Control or eligible for certification, preferred.
* Minimum of five years experience as a Registered Nurse with a strong clinical background in a hospital setting and one year of management and/or teaching experience OR minimum of five years hospital lab experience, including one year in microbiology and one year of management experience.
* Has knowledge and experience in areas of patient care practices, microbiology, asepsis, disinfection/sterilization, adult education, infectious diseases, communication, program administration and epidemiology.
