Job Description
NaphCare has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Nursing (DON) / Registered Nurse (RN) Leader to advance their clinical leadership career with our Virginia Beach Corrections team! This role allows you to utilize your expertise in nursing and leadership experience to support an underserved population using cutting-edge resources, such as NaphCare's proprietary EHR system, TechCare.
Position Requirements
- Current unrestricted registered nursing (RN) license in state of employment, with BSN preferred
- Valid CPR card
- 3-5 years management experience in a healthcare setting
- 1 year experience in correctional healthcare preferred
Responsibilities
- Work cohesively with the Leadership and Medical Director in the management of the healthcare delivery system and administrative operations
- Evaluate the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice and administration and develop systems to ensure and monitor patient care and patient safety within the facility
- Serve as a professional role model and mentor to motivate, develop, and retain nursing staff
- Coordinate and evaluate nursing staff orientation and training to both facility and company policies, and develop and maintain nursing mentor program
- Make clinical rounds to all designated areas within the facility to ensure appropriateness of patient care plans implemented by the nursing staff
