Intensive Care Nurse - ICU Nurse - (ICU RN)

Critical care nurses (CCU RNs) assist in the treatment of acutely ill patients with life-threatening conditions, in settings requiring continuous vigilance, complex assessment, and high-intensity therapies and interventions. Working with the patients and their families, ICU RNs strive to create healing, humane and caring environments while also focusing on patient advocacy, working in settings such as intensive care units and cardiac care units, where patients require complex assessment, high-intensity therapies and interventions, and continuous nursing vigilance.
Required Qualifications
1. At least 2 yrs of current experience in the specialty is required. SICU: Able to handle Swans, A Lines, central lines, drips
2. ACLS, BLS and CVVH must have exp date in selling notes&include renewal info if expired
3. Referencing - 2 refs, 1 must be from most current job
4. **CAN BE DONE POST OFFER**--Work History - must include 10 years work history with no gap greater than 60 days without noting reason.
5. BSN is required with only occasional exceptions for hard to fill orders.....this is hard to fill. CAN GET ASN EXCEPTION for a file with 3 plus years current exp, from larger hospitals.
6. Computer charting
PREFER:
1. IABP, Post Op Heart and Lung Transplant exp, VAD, ECMO, Titrating Drips
START: Start date will be 3-6 weeks out, 6 weeks min. w/out lic contact QS for details
SHIFT: 11.5 Nights, flex schedule 3 shifts-4 shifts-3 shifts-4 shifts, 14 shifts/ month, 80.5 hours bi-weekly EOW
GENERAL INFO:
1. Hospital testing required- NLN Pharamacology TRAVELERS GET TWO TRIE TO PASS AND ARE CANCELED IF THE FAIL
