Job Description

Laconia is a city in [Register to View] , [Register to View] , United States. Laconia, situated between [Register to View] and [Register to View] , includes the villages of [Register to View] and [Register to View] . Each June for nine days beginning on the Saturday of the weekend before [Register to View] and ending on Father's Day, the city hosts [Register to View] , also more simply known as 'bike week', one of the country's largest [Register to View] , and each winter, the Laconia World Championship [Register to View] Derby. The city is also the site of the state's annual [Register to View] since 2015, having organized it after its former home of [Register to View] rejected it due to riots in their neighborhoods in 2014. General job duties and types of procedures required:
This position is a one that requires titration of high alert medication, a-line knowledge and critical care thinking. Candidate should be comfortable with ventilators and bi-paps.

Equipment utilized in the unit/dept:
Cerner EMR is used across the organization. Omnicell usage may be required at night.

Required skills and minimum years of experience:
Minimum of 2 years ICU experience

Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required:
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with current NH RN license.
BLS, Dysrhythmia, ACLS, CPI.

Shift or schedule requirements:
This is a 7p-7a position, 36 hours/week, requiring every other weekend; possibility of call when low census.
Core staffing is three ICU nurses, thus the nurse will typically be working with two other ICU nurses, but at times may work with one ICU and one Telemetry nurse.

Floating to other units/departments:
Floating is required throughout the hospital as needed when home unit is low census.

Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept.:
The ICU is a 6 bed unit

Nurse to patient ratio of this unit:
We are either a 2:1 or 3:1 ratio depending on acuity.

Dress Code:
Personal scrubs.

Unit/department specific training and orientation program:
New hires with experience will typically receive 12 weeks of orientation.

Our ICU unit at LRGH is a state-of-the art critical care unit with fully equipped private rooms and high-tech monitoring. The ICU nurse assumes responsibility to collaborate within a multidisciplinary care team in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of a nursing plan of care in response to the needs of adult patients who are critically ill or who have the potential to become critically ill.
