THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY:
The ICU RN is responsible for providing safe, effective care to the Adult Intensive Care patients within the unit. This 20-bed combined Intensive Care Unit sees all critical patients (primarily post-cardiac surgery). This is a (3) 12s, night shift position with rotating weekends. This is a non-union hospital.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Provide compassionate, safe and quality care to patients on the unit
- Monitor patients worsening conditions, sepsis, etc.
- Educate family on patient’s condition and required care
- Collaborate with Physicians, Advanced Practice Providers and Clinical Leaders on patient’s care.
- Respond to emergency situations with patient including intervention when necessary
- Implement treatment plan as outlined by physician, as well as inform the entire treatment team if changes need to be made to the treatment plan due to knowledge gathered regarding patient’s psychosocial or spiritual needs.
- 1 year of experience in a CRITICAL care environment in an acute care hospital required. If you have at least 1 year experience as a RN and have completed an ICU internship (must be able to be verified), then we can consider this.
- Experience with ventilated patients and familiar with sepsis protocols
- BSN required
- Able to think well under pressure and respond to emergency situations quickly and calmly
- Current RN license within the State of California (or eligible to obtain CA License upon hire)
- CCRN preferred
