Job Description

The Critical Care Registered Nurse for the Department of Radiology, Vascular Interventional Radiology at Madigan Army Medical Center which shall contribute to a stable workforce tasked with providing quality health care services to a diverse beneficiary population.

Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

  • Be a graduate of an accredited RN Program or graduate from a college or university accredited by National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC), or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
  • Must have a current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse.
  • Must have a current IS sedation certification.
  • RN will have a minimum of two-year post-licensure experience in a critical care setting (Intensive Care Unit or Emergency Department) and have provided moderate sedation within the last 2 years to allow for demonstration of satisfactory performance of the duties required as stated elsewhere in the PWS.
  • Must possess and maintain a current certification for Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through an American Heart Association approved training program.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Shall be able to read, write, and speak English well enough to effectively communicate with all parties and other health care providers. In addition, if the position requires the use of computers, the contract HCPs shall be computer literate.
  • Shall have the required education, training, experience and documented current competence in the required specialty position description.
  • Shall possess sufficient initiative, interpersonal relationship skills and social sensitivity such that he/she can relate constructively to a variety of patients from diverse backgrounds.
