Job Description

• Routine adult and pediatric anesthesia recovery services, the PACU provides a flexible overflow resource for Adult Critical Care, Cardiology, and Pediatric Intensive Care.
• Collects and assesses patient data in an effort to provide a safe environment for the patient during their perioperative experience.
• Anticipates needs for the surgical procedure or post procedure based on the patient assessment, procedure performed and physician preference.
• Monitors sterile technique by identifying any deviation from the standard of care and communicates with all team members.
• Serves as a patient advocate by providing compassionate nursing care that is individualized to meet the special needs of the patient.

Qualifications and Job Info

• PACU Nurses need a minimum of 1 year critical care (ICU/ED) experience.
• OR Perioperative Fellows can be new graduate nurses that may apply to the program.
• OR Nurses need 1-2 years of related OR experience.
• Associate's Degree
• BLS from the American Heart Association is required
• ACLS from the American Heart Association is required
• PALS is required within 6 months from the date of hire/transfer.
