DirectShifts is Seeking an RN - Inpatient Dialysis to Work in Fargo, ND.



Job Description:
General Job duties. Types of procedures required. Conventional Hemodialysis, Continuous Renal Replacement (CRRT), Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) and preferably Plasmapheresis for the adult population. Pediatric conventional dialysis and CRRT will be added in January 2021.

Equipment utilized in the unit/dept.
Electronic charting – EPIC. Medication system – Acudose. BBraun Dialog – Conventional hemodialysis. Prismaflex – CRRT. Baxter cycler HomeChoice – PD. Optia - plasmapheresis

Required skills and minimum years of experience. Able to competently perform all modalities of renal replacement therapy – Hemodialysis, CRRT and PD. Collaborates with other inter-professional colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement and evaluate care. Work independently and as a team member. Functions within the scope and standards of nursing practice. State nursing licensure. Minimum of one year experience.

Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required.
RN Nursing licensure for ND or compact state. BLS - AHA required. ACLS is optional.

Shift or schedule requirements.
Will work independently at bedside and in unit setting.
Shifts vary. 12 hr shifts. 06.30-19.00, 09.00-21.30, 11.00-23.30.
Call shifts from 23.00-06.30 usually 3 to 4 call shifts in a six week schedule. On our phone messaging system a message is left each evening to let you know which campus you are to report to the following day at the beginning of your shift or if you start at 0900 or 1100 you may need to call in to the charge to find out which location they need you at for that day.

Nurse to patient ratio of this unit. (nursing only) 1:2 in Dialysis suite/unit and 1:1 bedside
Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs and have Hospital issued scrubs for Special Care unit.
Tell us about the unit/department specific training and orientation program. Will get EPIC computer training for electronic charting and assigned one preceptor/mentor to complete onboarding competency checklist.
