Job Description

• Responsible for being a positive example and champion for all aspects of Bellville Medical Center, at all times.
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills with all of our customers – our patients, families of patients, our physicians, our staff and community leaders.
• Ability to think and work effectively under stress with frequent interruptions; to move, sit, stand, walk and bend intermittently throughout the workday, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Must possess sight and hearing senses that will enable these sources to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
• External and internal applicants who become disabled, must be able to perform the essential job functions either unaided of or with the assistance of a reasonable accommodation to be determined on a case by case basis.
• Position has a moderate expected exposure to blood borne pathogens.
• Expected to consistently go between the ER and Med-Surg unit (Licensed 30 bed facility, Trauma IV, Stroke III facility)
• Attend or conduct continuing education courses, seminars, or in-service activities.
• Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for treatment and rehabilitation of physical dysfunctions.
• Must be able to give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.

Qualifications and Job Info

• Associates Degree (required) or Bachelor’s (preferred)
• ER sees all ages, Med-Surg 18+ yrs of age
• Current License by State Board of Nursing
• Bilingual preferred - Spanish
• Current CPR required, ACLS required within 6 months
  Experience: 1-year experience Nursing, preferred, Med-Surg or ER
• Demonstrate the highest level of professionalism when interacting with patients, families, physicians, and hospital staff members.
