Emergency Room - Nurse Manager Opportunity in St. Louis, MO

Level IV Emergency department a mix of psych, medical and some major trauma.

BSN required; MSN preferred: Masters preferred

How many ER rooms? 14, includes a triage area, 4 “trauma rooms”, 2 Behavioral Health rooms

What type of cases for a Level IV ER? Sprains, cough, fever, sore throat, pain control, abdominal pain, shortness of breath, chest pain, diabetes and we get a few traumas by family/community drop off that we transfer once stabilized

We see a mix of psych, medical, with some major trauma.

Psych- about 10% of overall volume and 50% of admissions (from ED)

Medical- about 10% admitted 10% transferred the rest discharged. Around 80% overall patient population

Trauma- about 10% overall; half is transferred half is discharged.

Reports to CNO: Yes; depending on their years of experience they may report to the Director of Nursing Operations but I am hoping that is not the case

Standard Director hours: Varies (typically day time hours) but will need to round and work some evenings/night/weekends to see staff

Does the Director take call?: 24|7 accountability for the department. They will be the only leader for the ED at this present time

Compensation?: $120,000-$140,000 We will take into account their experience in ED AND Leadership

ACLS certified is PALS and NALs required certifications. (Pediatrics and Newborn) ACLS, BLS, TNCC (not required but preferred-as we are wanting to get our staff certified in trauma), IL RN license
