Registered Nurse (RN) Job Overview:

  • Participate in outreach and marketing of the PDHRA program and services provided. Liaison with the Line Commanders, screen patients, provide treatment when appropriate, educate returning units on the availability of the service and coordinate follow-on care.
  • Communicate with the Line Commanders to make them aware of the Deployment Health Clinic benefit, clarify who is eligible to receive services, and to initiate the screening process. Communications will take place at the clinic and "in the field," with the Line units.
  • Coordinate with Military Treatment Facility (MTF) assigned personnel to schedule initial patient screenings and follow-on appointments or referrals for service members before they leave the clinic or the screening at the Line unit.
  • Provide deployment health screening services to all service members either individually or in groups, at the clinic or at the Line unit as determined necessary.
  • Become proficient with the use of the Navy Environmental Health Center (NEHC) electronic methods of completing the Department of Defense (DD) The contractor HCW shall use the Standard Form (SF) 600, which is the primary form of documentation for medical encounters, and the (SF) 513, which is the primary consultation form.
  • Ensure proper handling, filing and storing of all completed forms in the patient's medical record and ensure transmission of all electronic forms to NEHC.
  • Document all patient cases and must ensure that patient encounters capture the DHC workload in Composite Health Care System/Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (CHCS/AHLTA) using the Medical Expense and Performance Reporting System (MEPRS) code designated by the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery (BUMED), Accounting Guidance, published July 2006 or subsequent revision.
  • Assist in the administrative management of the DHC to ensure electronic transmissions and quality assurance reporting requirements are met.
  • Provide care for eligible patients resulting from the DHC screening in accordance with the Deployment Health Clinical Center (DHCC) guidelines located at [Register to View] Emphasis will be on the treatment of mental health to include post-traumatic stress disorders and other combat related psychological symptoms. Family member care, related to deployment, may be included in the active duty member's scheduled sessions.
  • Participate in providing educational sessions/briefings for returning Units on deployment related illnesses/conditions and the realities of readjusting to life following deployment.
  • Perform case management related services for those patients that need follow on care, as directed by the Officer in Charge, or his designee. If not directly involved in case management, the contractor RN will support case management staff
  • Ensure that all service members that require follow-on appointments or referrals will have them before leaving the DHC when required.

Registered Nurse (RN) - Ambulatory PDHRA Job Qualifications:

  • BLS
  • RN Licensure: current unrestricted license. Any U.S. state.
  • Demonstrated clinical competency within the past two years
  • Graduate from an accredited program
  • One (1) year of full-time experience as an ambulatory RN within the past three (3) years.

Position contingent on contract award with a Fall start date and award notice.
