Overview
Weekend position offering a 20% differential!
POSITION SUMMARY: According to department policies and nursing care standards, provides professional nursing care services to patients ages newborn through adult. Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care provided to assigned patients. In doing so, demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care that is appropriate to the ages of the patients served newborn - adult by the unit or area worked. The following are general characteristics of this job, although duties may vary by assigned shift. Registered Professional Nurses at OSF HealthCare are licensed professionals empowered to participate in an interdisciplinary approach to meet the expectations of those we serve.
Qualifications
Work requires a professional level of knowledge of nursing practice and theory at a level that generally can be acquired by completion and graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
Work requires a minimum of one year current experience in an acute healthcare setting within the specialty hired and two years overall nursing experience, minimally.
Requires completion of professional orientation and clinical orientation.
Current IL State license as a Registered Nurse required.
Certified in AHA Healthcare Provider BLS
Mandatory certifications as applicable to area
Home Health RNs - Must have own transportation, auto insurance and abides by all laws, rules and recommendations for safe driving while on duty.
Maintains a valid driver’s license.
The job incumbent is required to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care appropriate to the age of the patients served on their assigned units.
This requires that the incumbent demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development as well as the physical, emotional and psycho-social needs of the patient population served.
The Clinical Resource Team nurse must be willing and able to work in at least 3 OSF facilities as needed.
Work requires the interpersonal skills necessary to comfort patients, family members and/or significant others; to communicate effectively and concisely with other patient care providers; and to instruct patients, family members and/or significant others in self-care/home care procedures.
Work requires analytical ability necessary to assess patients' physical, psychological and social needs, develops individualized patient care plans, and evaluate patients' responses to medical and nursing interventions.
