Flight for Life does not currenlty have a position open for a flight RN. Please submit an application and resume if you would like to be considered for future openings.
The Flight Nurse provides comprehensive care to critically ill and/or injured persons in the air medical environment. Practice is carried out with a high degree of independence in challenging out-of-hospital environment and at regional health care facilities. The position also has significant responsibility for public relations and involves interacting with a wide range of healthcare and public safety professionals in stressful situations.
Requirements
- Current RN license by the State of Texas
- State of Texas EMT-B (EMT-P required within first year of employment)
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing (BSN preferred)
- Three years of critical care/emergency nursing experience
- Previous Flight experience is strongly encouraged
- ACLS certification upon hire
- PALS certification upon hire
- TNATC or ATLS required within one year of hire
- One of the following certifications required at hire: CCRN,CFRN,CTRN,FP-C CCP-C
- A second certification is required within 18 months of hire: CCRN,CFRN,CTRN, FP-C CCP-C
- Emotional stability to function effectively in unpredictable situations
- Problem solving skills and ability to exercise independent judgement
- Strong public relations and diplomacy skill set
