Registered Nurse- Marrow Transplant Unit (MTU) RN

Place of Performance: Seattle, WA

A-Team Solutions is seeking (4) Marrow Transplant Unit RN's for a minimum 13 week assignment at the VA in Seattle, WA. The incumbent practices as an RN on MTU, under the Hospital and Specialty Care Line at the VAPSHCS. The MTU is an 8-bed inpatient and 4 chair outpatient room specializing in transplanting patients with hematologic malignancies (AA, MM, lymphoma, leukemia as well as Breast Cancer and some other solid tumors). Patients are followed on the unit both as inpatients and outpatients. The average length of stay is 15-20 days. The average age ranges from 18-70 years, primarily males.

Job Duties:

  • Most patients are required to stay in Seattle for 100 days.

· Registered nurses provide direct care in the inpatient MTU twenty-four hours per day.

· The Inpatient RN is accountable when assigned as a primary nurse for a defined group of patients for the entire episode of care. Outpatients are followed by a designated OPN. The RN is accountable for defined groups of patients on his/her shift.

· 80 hour pay period (two weeks) day, evening, or night shifts depending on work area to include weekends. Shifts vary by location to include 8 hour, 9 hour, 10, hour or 12 hour. Tours of Duty or a combination of shifts to meet 80 hours/pay period.

Requirements:

  • Shall be licensed in a state, territory, or commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia. The Contract Nurse (s) assigned by the Contractor to perform the services covered by this contract shall be graduates of a school of nursing accredited by the National League of Nursing (NLN) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). All licenses held by the personnel working on this contract shall be full and unrestricted licenses.
  • Must have current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
  • RN, CPR certified, and computer literate.

· At least two years recent (within the past 12 months) nursing experience.
