Job Description

- Provides leadership to the multidisciplinary ‘Treatment Planning Workgroup’ for Medical Oncology-Hematology to ensure evidence for new treatment plans are evaluated comprehensively and complies with NCCN guidelines or appropriate evidence citations. Develops and maintains key physician, pharmacist, and nursing relationships.
- Monitors NCCN guidelines for relevant ‘NCCN Flashes’ that suggest safety issues or opportunities for timely treatment updates as new evidence develops.
- Works collaboratively with the Clinical Pathway team; including keeping pathways in sync with the Oncology EMR.
- Contributes to patient safety and care by review patient’s care transitions to ensure chemotherapy is reconciled by the physician between inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Act as liaison to physicians, nurse practitioners and staff nurses to resolve clinical questions prior to patient appointment. Develop and deliver training and education to ensure accurate use of the Oncology EMR systems.
- Work with the billing office as necessary to verify initial and recertification of insurance authorizations. Provides clinical support to assist with insurer questions to support obtaining authorization.
- Communicate project status and issues weekly to the Quality Manager; escalates issues to Quality Manager when appropriate.

- CT License
- OCN Card is a plus
