THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY:

The Director of Nursing for Oncology Services will be located at the health system’s flagship hospital and cancer center, a 64,000 Sq. Foot Cancer Center Pavilion. This Cancer Center is one of the largest comprehensive programs in Southern California and has been accredited by the Commission on Cancer. This cancer center offers a wide-range of services including several Infusion centers, Radiation oncology, Comprehensive Breast Health Center, an Integrative Medicine Program, a Cancer Risk and Prevention Program, Onsite Cancer Rehabilitation unit, a hotline for patients with Cancer related questions, Genetic Testing, as well as programs for specific cancer types.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Planning and Development of new Cancer Related Services.
  • Oversight of all clinical staff within the Ambulatory Oncology areas of the cancer center, including financial and human resources management, policy formation, and patient care service operations.
  • Partner with new and existing organizations that promote the fight on cancer.
  • Collaborate with front line staff, physicians, advanced practitioners, and hospital leadership to make changes in current process flows that enhance patient experience.
  • Develop and retain employees
  • Work closely with hospital leadership and the marketing team to continue to develop the Oncology Program and advance philanthropic support
  • Promote a high-level, collaborative culture that promotes growth and opportunity for not only the organization, but also for current staff.

DOES THIS DESCRIBE YOU?

  • BSN Required, MSN preferred
  • 5+ years experience in Oncology Leadership, preferably in either multi-site community practices or a large cancer institute.
  • Knowledge of LEAN process improvement initiatives, as well as organizational development.
  • Knowledge and experience of Cancer Center Accreditations
  • Broad vision of the future of the health care industry and desire to change it.
