Job Description
The Carolinas Healthcare System in currently the third largest public, non-profit healthcare system in the country. Consisting of 43 hospitals and greater than 600 care locations between the states of North and South Carolina. Their flagship, Carolinas Medical Center (CMC) is a designated Level 1 Trauma Center, Magnet facility, and academic/teaching hospital licensed for greater than 800 beds, located in Uptown Charlotte.
CMC’ s Main Operating Room consists of 33 OR suites, five (5) of which are dedicated to Neurosurgery. This is a cutting edge service averaging 3,300 cases annually. The Nurse Manager for Neurosurgery will be responsible for the daily operations of these five OR suites. The position reports to the Director of Surgical Services for this campus and is supported by 32 FTE’s. Initial priorities include: building relationships with the physicians and staff, improving employee engagement scores, assisting in the implementation of new equipment to remain on the cutting edge of new procedures and building a cohesive team.
Qualified candidates must be BSN prepared with a Master’s degree in a related field, have a minimum of three (3) years clinical experience in neurosurgery and a least two (2) years of nursing leadership experience.
