Job Description

Specialty: RN - Medical Surgical
Location: Dickinson, ND
Shift: 6a-2p
Start Date: 10/5/2020

Nurse Position details:

  • Review and update service plans according to State requirements.
  • Perform or supervise the performance of individual nursing services as required.
  • Implement wellness program to maximize health through education, preventative care, etc.
  • With Family Service Coordinator, assess prospective residents to determine care needs and appropriateness for residency. Coordinate Wellness Services procedures to admit new residents.
  • Train/orientate staff concerning Wellness Services functions and procedures as directed; provide staff in-services as required.
  • Identify at-risk residents and help create risk management plan if needed.
  • Communicate with residents, families, staff, physicians and other health care providers regarding resident health issues and service plans.
  • Facilitate alternative placement or supplemental care when appropriate.
  • Oversee medication setup and delivery system.
  • Respond to resident emergency calls as needed; review and document emergency call responses.
  • Assist Director in developing annual Wellness Services budget if required; operate within monthly budget and make special purchases with approval.
  • Ensure safe, secure storage of all medications, supplies, equipment, etc.
  • Supervise other Wellness Services staff, as authorized by Director.
  • Assure accurate documentation and timely submission of services provided for resident billing.
  • Set annual goals and assess quarterly, if required.
  • Manage and supervise other Wellness Services functions as required.
  • Other job duties as assigned

Nurse knowledge, skills, abilities and requirements:

  • Proficient education of medication, dosage and terminology as well as side effects
  • Geriatric and/or Senior knowledge of health factors
  • Proven track record of integrity
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and problem solving skills
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Must be detail oriented and accurate
  • Evaluate resident condition for changes or symptoms.
  • Maintain confidentiality of verbal and written information pertaining to residents, prospective residents, facility operations and personnel
  • Work independently and/or interact with team members at all levels and promote teamwork
  • Prioritize, multi-task, and maintain flexibility in a fast paced, service oriented, environment.
  • Registered Nurse degree
  • Licensed in appropriate state
  • 1 year working with seniors preferred
  • Regular and punctual attendance is required.
