NYS Contract Assignment
Registered Nurse

Washington CF Medical department is in need of up to 3 agency RN's who are able to work the evening shift 2 Rn's for (2pm – 10pm) and 1 RN fo the night shift (10pm – 6am).
Occasionally there will be available day shifts (6am – 2pm). Shifts will also include holidays and weekends.
The RN must have a current NYS RN license with a minimum of one year experience that includes correctional experience. If the RN does not have correctional experience, they must be licensed and practicing for a minimum of 4 years.
The RN must be present in the department at all times during their assigned shift.
They must be punctual and dependable.
The RN must have good nursing assessment skills and triage skills.
The RN must possess emergency nursing skills and be able to respond to a medical emergency anywhere in the compound within 3 minutes.
The RN must be experienced in medication administration, be able to work alone, multitask, have strong documentation and communication skills, follow directions given to them by the DOCCS nursing staff, Nurse Administrator, Physicians, and Security Supervisors, along with following the policies and procedures of NYSDOCCS.
The assigned nurses will receive a facility and medical orientation.

Dress code policy that requires nurses to dress appropriately when caring for inmates.
Scrub tops and scrub pants with a lab coat is fine.
Green clothing of any type in not allowed as this is the color inmates wear.
We have lab coats here if needed. There cannot be any tight clothing, low cut clothing, no see-through clothing, no excessive jewelry, no open toed shoes, no open backed shoes, no perfume or cologne and nothing that will draw attention to themselves.
Cell phones, iPods, Fitbit or any other type of electronic device is not allowed into the facility.

Each RN candidate is required to pass a background check prior to entering the facility.
The Executive team, the Facility Health Services Director &/or the Nurse Administrator, reserve the right to deny any candidate entry into the facility &/or shifts to any candidate that may not meet the needs of the facility or the inmate population.
