(Archived) Detox RN position in Stonington, CT
Job Description
The Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care, assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates the nursing treatment plan. Detox setting, 3-12-hour shifts are available.

- Ability to establish and maintain relationships with patients and/or their family members.
- Strong assessment skills.
- Understand the developmental needs of adults and respond to clients accordingly.
- Understand and effectively work with clients with substance abuse, behavioral health, and developmental issues.
- Function as a team player in delivery of services.
- Participation in training for Verbal De-Escalation and CPR
Must be capable of multi-tasking and providing attention to detail in a fast-paced setting.
Physical Demands
Requires sitting, standing, walking, stair climbing, and bending. May be required to assist clients with ambulation and transfers.

- Exposure to psychiatric and substance abuse clients who may exhibit violent/aggressive behavior. Potential for exposure to communicable diseases, blood/body fluids and other hazardous waste. General hospital/residential treatment environment.
Qualifications
Graduate of accredited school of nursing with a current State of Connecticut R.N. License. Minimum of one year experience working in the Mental Health or Substance Abuse field preferred.
