Job Description

Responsibilities

The House Supervisor supervises the delivery of nursing care provided by professional and support nursing staff on a designated unit. Care is provided in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of this behavioral health system. The House Supervisor prescribes; coordinates and delegates care utilizing the nursing process that is integrated into the multidisciplinary treatment team plan of care. The House Supervisor is accountable for nursing care activities on a shift basis and is responsible for promoting and enhancing professional nursing practice on the unit

The specifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability to meet the minimum requirements for this position. Staff must demonstrate flexibility for reassignment to units providing care to varied populations including adults and dually diagnosed patients.

Premier provider of specialized behavioral health and addictive disease services in the Memphis and Mid-South region. The 365-bed facility is one of the largest free-standing psychiatric hospital in the United States. We are located on a serene 37-acre campus in northeast Shelby County, serving as the setting for the treatment for children, adolescents, young adults, adults and seniors. This facility comprehensive programs treat disorders such as bipolar disorder, psychological trauma, depression and anxiety, mental illnesses and addictive disease disorders such as alcoholism, drug addiction and substance abuse.

SIGN ON BONUS: 10,000

Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program. BSN or MSN preferred.

Experience: 3 years prior psychiatric nursing experience preferred, prior experience working with specific patient population and prior charge nurse experience preferred.

Licensure/Certification: Licensure and registration by the Tennessee Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.

Knowledge: General and psychiatric nursing processes, therapeutic relationships and processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting, behavior and crisis management and CPR training preferred.

Shifts: Evenings 3-11p Mon - Fri, Night 3p-7a Mon - Fri, Weekends 7p-7a Sat & Sun
