Registered Nurse- Psychiatric RN
Place of Performance: Seattle, WA

A-Team Solutions is seeking (2) Psychiatric RN's for a minimum 13 week assignment at the VA in Seattle, WA. The incumbent practices as a RN on the Mental Health Service Care Line. The inpatient unit provides care to veterans through several programs: Addictions (ATC) and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). 7 West is a locked unit. The patient populations on 7 West are likely to present with substance abuse requiring inpatient detoxification and stabilization, PTSD with exacerbation of symptoms not to be treated as an outpatient, co-morbid medical conditions such as diabetes, liver disease, cardiovascular disease and functional decline.

Job Duties:

• The RN functions as a member of one-two interdisciplinary teams and is accountable for direct patient care to a defined group of patients on his/her shift.
• The RN is also accountable for specific nursing duties such as medications, vital signs and teaching psychoeducational classes as assigned.
• 7 West is a voluntary and involuntary, acute, rapid turnover inpatient psychiatric unit. Patient populations include veterans who are likely to present with Acute psychosis, bipolar affective disorder, major depression, Suicidal ideation/homicidal ideation (SI/HI) with a plan, and dementia-related behavioral problems. Some of the patients may present with concomitant substance use intoxification who may need detoxification while being treated for their presenting psychiatric disorder.

Requirements:

• Shall be licensed in a state, territory, or commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia.The Contract Nurse (s) assigned by the Contractor to perform the services covered by this contract shall be graduates of a school of nursing accredited by the National League of Nursing (NLN) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). All licenses held by the personnel working on this contract shall be full and unrestricted licenses.
• Must have current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• RN, CPR certified, and computer literate.
• 2 years recent experience in psychiatric nursing (within the past 4 years)
