Job Description
The RN for the Mental Health Facility is responsible for coordinating, and evaluating patient care through collaborative efforts with health team members in accordance with the nursing process and the standards of care and practices.
HOURS: 1-3 12 hour shifts per week- 3 Shifts preferred
Essential Job Functions:
- Completes nursing assessment including documentation
-transcribes physician's orders and implements all medical protocols as ordered
-administers medications and monitors post-acute withdrawal symptoms
-confers with and assists the ARNP's and MD's
-attends and participates in all "in-service" functions
-assists with emergency situations and makes immediate referrals
Necessary Abilities:
-Knowledge of appropriate nursing assessment, diagnoses, & interventions with patients
-ability to accurately administer medications and monitor side-effects
-demonstrates proficiency in communication and written skills
-knowledge of State & Federal Statutes regarding HIPAA
REQUIREMENTS:
-minimum of 1 year experience in a psychiatric health-care facility treating co-occurring, mentally ill, or chemically dependent patients, with understanding of co-occurring disorders.
-Current Florida State Registered Nurse License
-Current CPR certification
