Place of Performance – Reno, NV

A-Team Solutions is seeking 2- Mental Health Registered Nurses for a 6month contract with possible extensions at the VA hospital in Reno, NV. Shift times are varying. The patients in this unit carry various diagnoses including schizophrenia, bi-polar disorder, personality disorders and dementia. Many patients may be under involuntary and/or court ordered admissions.

Requirements:

· Provider must have an active, unrestricted license to practice nursing in any State, Territory or Commonwealth of the US.

· Must have BLS through the AHA

· Assigned personnel shall provide evidence of annual TB testing or receive a TB test.

· Must have a clear background to clear government credentialing

· RN will spend 95% of time in direct patient care and 5% for administrative tasks

· RN to work on mental health unit. RN shall be responsible for patient assessments, medication administration, interdisciplinary team coordination, admissions, discharges, internal and external transfers, delegating to assistive personnel, electronic medical record documentation, patient transport, and emergency response procedures, applying de-escalation techniques to help people manage their emotions and behavior, providing evidence-based individual l therapy, such as cognitive behavior therapy for depression and anxiety.

· Approximate care ratio is 1 RN to 5-6 patients (with team that includes LPNs and NAs)

· Serves as a resource to other staff in meeting individualized learning and discharge needs, recommends appropriate referrals, adaptive equipment and approved educational materials.
