POSITION SUMMARY: The RN Wound/Enterostomy implements and evaluates the activities for total patient care in the Wound Care Center. Follows protocols as outlined by the hospital in the delivery of acute and chronic wound care and hyperbaric treatments. Will demonstrate competency in and be responsible for treating various types of patients seen including critically ill and chronically ill patients, ranging in age from pediatric to geriatric. Performs various educational activities, including infection control, aseptic dressing technique, and preventive care. Educates patient, significant other and/or caretaker, including a return demonstration within the Medical Center and community.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: BSN within 6 years of hire date;
Licenses/Certifications: RN-Registered Nurse
Experience: 3 years med surg experience
Other skills/knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
License/Certifications: Wound Care certification or Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (CWOCN) preferred; ACLS certification, Experience with Hyperbarics
