Licensed Vocational Nurse LVN / Psychiatric / Inpatient

Job Responsibilities

Nurses are responsible for nursing assessment plan, and medical and psychiatric care management of the patient in coordination with the attending physician. He/she is also a member of the Treatment Team and provides input into the development of the Master Treatment Plan when appropriate. He/she functions under the guidance of our Policy and Procedures, their State Licensure and accordance of State and Federal regulations.

Additional responsibilities for the Psychiatric Licensed Vocational Nurse LVN include:

Varied shifts (Days/Swing/Nights) at a 24/7 facility.
Completes physical & mental health assessments
Develops care plans for patients, helping them be as independent as possible
Administers and monitors treatment regimens
Administers prescribed medications, making constant adjustments commensurate with a patient's condition under the supervision of qualified medical staff
Observes and reports behavioral changes
Maintains control of drugs and medications
Records all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms
Performs other position-related duties as assigned, depending on assignment setting

Job Requirements

We are looking for dedicated and professional Psychiatric Licensed Vocational Nurse LVN who are committed to providing exceptional patient care and service. It is also important that you are highly organized and that you demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Specific qualifications for the Psychiatric Licensed Vocational Nurse LVN role include:

Graduate of an accredited program for licensed vocational nurses.
One year of acute care experience plus 2 years of recent chemical dependency experience preferred.
Psychiatry experience is a plus.
Licensed to practice nursing in the State of California; maintaining current licensure per state requirements.
Maintains current CPR certification.
