Job Description

We are looking for a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team! As a member of the medical Staff, psychiatric nurse practitioners (PNP) oversee the quality of care delivered to their patients under state required collaborative arrangements with a qualified psychiatrist. They assess the clinical appropriateness of admissions and collaborate with the Intake department. PNPs work with attending psychiatrists in caring for inpatients and perform psychiatric assessments and provide ongoing care for outpatients. Within their scope of practice, they provide individual therapy, family therapy and/or medication management as needed for patients under their care. All medical staff are encouraged to request and provide consultations when indicated or requested. All medical staff are expected to: maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA standards; complete all documentation requirements legibly and within timeframes established by Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules and
Regulations; participate in the multidisciplinary treatment teams and work collaboratively with other disciplines in planning for the treatment of their patients; appropriately prescribe and document medication orders in compliance with facility and regulatory standards; comply with all Seclusion and Restraint requirements; ensure coverage for their patients when away from the facility; participate in ongoing Performance Improvement activities and hospital committees as assigned; complete necessary documentation to ensure accurate reimbursement for services provided; comply with all Medical Staff Bylaws and Medical Staff Rules and Regulations; comply with all facility policies and procedures and maintain professional behaviors at all times.
Requirements:


Education: Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program required; Board Certification preferred. Licensure: Active License, CNS or APN License Prevention Training: CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days of employment

Experience:

Prior experience in hospital based psychiatric practice or outpatient preferred
