Job Summary:

The Lead RN in Crisis Stabilization is responsible for the overall coverage/medical care and supervision of Crisis Stabilization clients according to the physician’s orders and the policies of the agency and the department.

Lead Nurse - Crisis Stabilization Education and Experience Requirements:

Master's Degree in psychiatric nursing or comparable degree preferred. Minimum Requirements include at least three years of nursing experience as a registered nurse and one year of supervisory experience or an
equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Lead Nurse - Crisis Stabilization Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Ability to respond effectively to changes in the work environment in a positive and professional manner.
• Ability to develop and maintain therapeutic relationships.
• Ability to promote positive, collaborative, and professional working relations among co-workers and representatives in the community.
• Knowledge of community mental health and public health in order to provide advocacy and enhance an individual’s treatment and access to community resources.
• Knowledge of best nursing practices.
• Knowledge of the principles, procedures, techniques, trends, and literature related to mental health, physical health, intellectual disabilities and substance abuse.
• Knowledge of psychiatric/medical medications/treatments.
• Skill to perform medical interviews in order to obtain information and to formulate appropriate treatment plans and referrals.
