Company Information
Samuel Simmonds Memorial Hospital is the primary healthcare facility for the North Slope Region-an area larger than the state of Washington that is colored by rich cultural diversity and the beauty of the Inupiat people. And, a place where the adventures of the last great frontier are as inviting as the communities under your care.
The new hospital, at 109,000 square feet, opened in September 2013. It is a two-story structure with interior design features that integrate Native elements from the Arctic Slope region. All hospital services are located on a single campus. Samuel Simmonds Memorial Hospital serves the villages of Atqasuk, Kaktovik, Nuiqsut, Point Lay, Utqiavik, and Wainwright.
