I’m working with an IHS facility in western Alaska that is in need of an Optometrist to work as a Locum Tenens provider. Preferably a candidate passionate about healthcare for indigent populations, personable and good with working in a remote small town location. The practice is located within the local community hospital. All travel & lodging provided. Any state license. Begins ASAP and ongoing until a permanent candidate is hired.

• Flexible scheduling options – can consider any candidate that wants to travel and stay in the area for months at a time OR a 30 on/30 off rotation
• Office work schedule: Monday through Friday; 9AM-5PM
• No call or weekends
• Low patient volume, patients travel to hospital to be seen in the office
• No Ophthalmologist onsite. If a patient requires further care or treatment than what the local office can offer, patient is transferred to a larger facility
• Community hospital serves 12 area villages
• Lodging will be in apartment on hospital campus or house rental in town
• Compensation is negotiable, contingent on experience & availability
