Job Description:
The Pittsburgh VA Medical Center is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team on a contract basis. This role involves providing high-quality care to our veteran patients, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of patient care practices and will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to deliver exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating, while maintaining their dignity and comfort.
- Monitor and record vital signs, intake/output, and other essential health information.
- Provide support to nursing staff and physicians in the delivery of patient care.
- Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems for accurate and timely patient charting.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment for patients.
- Respond promptly to patient calls and requests, ensuring timely and effective care.
- Participate in patient care planning and contribute to the improvement of care delivery.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Demonstrate a compassionate and patient-focused attitude in all interactions.

Qualifications:
- Current certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state of Pennsylvania.
- Proficiency in EMR systems for patient charting.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy standards.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably with veterans or in a VA Medical Center.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to pass a thorough background check.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Compassionate and patient-focused attitude with a strong commitment to quality care.

Working Conditions:
- The position requires standing, walking, and lifting throughout the shift.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
