Environmental Services Supervisor – Full-Time (Evening/Night Shift)
Location: Burlington, VT Area (On-site)
Schedule: Full-Time (80 hours bi-weekly) | Variable hours between 1 PM – 2 AM (Typically 8-hour shifts)
Pay Range: $20.00 – $28.89 per hour
Sign-On Bonus: $2,500
Additional Compensation: Shift differential available for evening/night hours
Position Summary
We are currently seeking an Environmental Services Supervisor to support the leadership team in ensuring a clean, safe, and high-quality environment throughout our healthcare facility. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with a background in environmental services or facilities operations, especially in a healthcare setting.
You’ll supervise daily operations, train and mentor staff, maintain compliance with hospital cleanliness and safety standards, and contribute to a positive experience for patients, visitors, and staff.
Responsibilities

Supervise daily Environmental Services (EVS) operations across various hospital departments.

Conduct quality rounds and ensure high standards of cleanliness and infection control.

Support hiring, training, and onboarding of new EVS staff.

Manage and adjust staff schedules and assignments as needed.

Ensure timely completion of work orders and task checklists.

Send weekly communications and maintain staff bulletin board updates.

Model excellent customer service and foster a positive team environment.

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.

Experience: Minimum 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience in environmental services, preferably in a healthcare setting.

Skills:

Knowledge of OSHA regulations, infection control, and cleaning best practices.

Floor maintenance, general housekeeping, and safety compliance.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and team leadership skills.

Other Requirements:

Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

Must be insurable under company policy.

Physical & Working Conditions
-
Frequent walking, lifting, bending, pushing, and pulling (up to 55 lbs).

Exposure to cleaning chemicals, infectious materials, and varying weather conditions.

May use industrial cleaning equipment (auto-scrubbers, extractors, vacuums, etc.).

Required PPE: gloves, masks, goggles, gowns, etc., based on job duties.
