Grossing Technician / Grossing Tech / Grossing Technologist

  • Hours: 3rd Shift
  • Full Time: Benefits Eligible

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate accessioning and labeling of specimens.
  • Perform gross description and dissection of incoming specimens.
  • Maintain specimen and patient identification integrity.
  • Describe gross anatomic features of routine surgical specimens.
  • Review clinical information for pathologic examination relevance.
  • Examine specimens to identify pathologic conditions.
  • Dictate findings clearly and comprehensively.
  • Select relevant tissue samples for slide preparation.
  • Refer complex specimens to senior staff when necessary.
  • Ensure the laboratory's general appearance is well-kept.
  • Adhere to OSHA laboratory safety standards and regulations.
  • Handle biohazardous and chemical materials appropriately.
  • Participate in safety training and maintain policy compliance.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and company records.
  • Effectively communicate with management, colleagues, and clients.
  • Collaborate within a team-based work environment.
  • May require occasional overtime, on-call availability, or flexible scheduling.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in chemical, physical, or biological science, or medical laboratory technology.
  • 1 year of laboratory training or grossing experience preferred.
  • State licensure as mandated by law.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of laboratory training or grossing experience in a high-volume setting.

Salary Range: $40.00 to $60.00 per hour. Compensation is based on experience; regional variations may apply.
