Job Description
Overview
The Human Resources Specialist oversees and coordinates areas of Human Resources including recruitment and employment, personnel records, employee relations, regulatory reporting requirements, benefits administration and other areas as needed.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field or equivalent Human Resources experience preferred.
Experience:
- Two years of experience in a Human Resources position
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, HRIS applications and Internet applications
- Corrections and/or Healthcare industry experience is a plus
Licenses/Certifications:
- SHRM-CP a plus
Responsibilities
- Provide Employee Relations guidance to employees and support to management
- Collaborate with managers & partner with corporate HR to ensure HR process, policies and procedures are being administered in a consistent manner
- Assist with corrective actions as well as investigations for employee relations claims, and ensures objective and fair treatment of all employees in these investigations
- Assist in recruiting and onboarding of new employees
- Assist in the termination process of employees
