The Human Resources Specialist oversees and coordinates areas of Human Resources including recruitment and employment, personnel records, employee relations, regulatory reporting requirements, benefits administration and other areas as needed.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field or equivalent Human Resources experience preferred.

Experience:

  • Two years of experience in a Human Resources position
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, HRIS applications and Internet applications
  • Corrections and/or Healthcare industry experience is a plus

Licenses/Certifications:

  • SHRM-CP a plus
  1. Provide Employee Relations guidance to employees and support to management
  2. Collaborate with managers & partner with corporate HR to ensure HR process, policies and procedures are being administered in a consistent manner
  3. Assist with corrective actions as well as investigations for employee relations claims, and ensures objective and fair treatment of all employees in these investigations
  4. Assist in recruiting and onboarding of new employees
  5. Assist in the termination process of employees
  6. Provide administrative HR support to include with processing documentation and records, onboarding of new and/or returning employees, terminating employees and payroll into electronic filing system
  7. Assists with union requests such as with grievances, complaints, requests for information, etc.
  8. Assist in projects, such as; Union requests, Annual Performance Reviews, HR events, Benefits Open Enrollment, Employee Communications and meetings.
  9. Maintain active and termed personnel files to electronic files while practicing discretion of confidential and sensitive information
  10. Assist employees with general questions and/or guide employees to appropriate resources
  11. Coordinates staff development and training activities. Communicates training opportunities to staff. Responsible for the oversight of training records ensure that all training events are entered and recorded.
  12. Performs related duties as required and assigned by Management, meeting assigned due dates.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned.
