Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Educator to support staff development, onboarding, competency management, and nursing education programs in an acute care setting. The Clinical Nurse Educator works independently and collaborates with leadership, quality improvement teams, and clinical departments to promote evidence-based practice, professional development, and high-quality patient care outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate staff onboarding and orientation programs.
- Develop and manage nursing competencies.
- Conduct department-specific educational training.
- Support AHA life safety certification compliance.
- Implement evidence-based practice (EBP) initiatives.
- Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities.
- Assist with student clinical placements and educational programs.
- Participate in quality improvement, risk management, ethics, and infection prevention committees.
- Assess learning needs and evaluate educational outcomes.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of acute care nursing experience (ICU, PCU, ER, PACU, or Post-Op Recovery).
- At least 1 year of clinical education/staff development experience within the last 2 years.
- Experience providing staff orientation, educational presentations, and clinical staff training.
License
- Active, unrestricted RN license from any U.S. state or territory.
Certifications
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- ACLS (American Heart Association)
- ANCC Nursing Professional Development (NPD) Certification preferred.
- If not currently certified, must complete review course within 6 months and obtain certification within 1 year of hire.
Additional Information
- Holiday coverage required.
- EMR: Allscripts.
- Full compliance required 2 weeks before start date.
- Shared contractor housing may be available; no pets or family members permitted in hospital housing.
