Job description
Join a high-acuity Level I Trauma and teaching hospital environment providing anesthesia care to a diverse patient population ranging from adolescents to adults. This role offers both inpatient and outpatient exposure with a focus on GI and surgical anesthesia. You’ll be part of a large, collaborative anesthesia care team composed of CRNAs, attending anesthesiologists, and residents — perfect for providers who enjoy complex cases and academic medicine without overnight or call responsibilities.
Job Responsibilities
Patient Population: Ages 13 through end-of-life
Case Types: General surgical, GI, endoscopy, outpatient anesthesia
Cases Not Performed: Open heart, thoracic, OB, and pediatrics
Model: Medical direction – collaborative anesthesia team
Department Overview:
30+ ORs in main OR
10+ outpatient and offsite surgical locations
Dedicated GI rooms and procedure areas
Charting System: Epic
Qualifications
Licensure: Active Virginia license or willingness to obtain
Certifications: Valid ACLS & BLS (AHA required)
Experience: Minimum 2 years post-training (Level I/II Trauma or academic experience preferred)
Vaccinations:
Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
COVID vaccine optional
Working Hours
Schedule Options:
(4) 10-hour shifts per week, or
(3) 12–13-hour shifts per week
Includes 1 rotating Saturday per month
Shift Hours: 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM
Coverage: Scheduled shifts only — no call required
