Job Description

DirectShifts is Seeking a LPN Bilingual (English/Spanish) Refugee and Immigrant Services LPN to Work in Nashville, TN .This is a Full Time position. My client is very motivated to speak with all interested candidates.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct admission assessments within 48 hours of arrival of youth served in the Refugee transitional program
  • Provide on-going assessments and referrals as needed
  • Obtain and manage the medical needs and medications for youth, as necessary
  • Train staff medication dispensing and monitor dispensing logs
  • Respond to Medical Incident Reports within 72 hours
  • Effectively communicate with program staff regarding but not limited to health concerns medication updates; and/or follow-up appointment needs
  • Perform and audit vaccination and TB skin tests for new arrivals
  • Update and maintain the immunization stock and records in accordance with VFC guidelines, and monitor MCIR histories
  • Oversee the scheduling and coordination of dental appointments with dental clinic for eligible children
  • Partner with nursing staff and case managers in maintaining medical and dental records for children in care
  • Perform drug testing as needed
  • Supervise nursing and medical coordinating staff, as needed
  • Supervise nursing visits to foster home, as needed
  • Completed other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field of study from an accredited college;
  • Active State Nurse license
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English required
  • At least 3 years of experience working with families and children as a Nurse or equivalent role
  • Must have a broad knowledge of basic principles, concepts, and methodology of nursing as acquired through a Bachelor’s level degree
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have an ability to provide excellent and compassionate medical service
  • Ability to work independently and exercise a high level of confidentiality
  • Must be reliable with time sensitive deadlines and tasks
  • Work well under pressure and adaptable to change
  • Computer and typing skills sufficient to perform essential job functions
  • Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries
  • Subscription to and integration of the agency Statement of Faith, Mission Statement, and Cultural Diversity Commitment.
