Overview
POSITION SUMMARY: The LPN Scrub provides care for patients across the life span based on physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety, appropriate to the age of the person. Primarily performs duties of scrub person throughout the intra-operative phase of care. Recognizes significant conditions and reactions and notifies the RN, Charge Nurse, Anesthesia provider and/or the physician of the patient's condition. Adheres to a high standard of patient safety principles and aseptic and sterile techniques. Follows and understands the standards and recommended practices according to the Association of Operating Room Nurses (AORN) and Association of Surgical Technologist. (AST).
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Licenses/Certifications: Current Lincensed Practical Nurse by the State Board of Nursing in appropriate state (Illinois or Michigan) Current American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS is required prior to start date of employment. Experience: 1 year LPN experience Other skills/knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
