Job Description

MedFirst Staffing, a Joint Commission certified provider of healthcare staffing services, is actively recruiting outstanding Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) for immediate openings at adult correctional facilities throughout central Virginia. As a correctional facility nurse, you will be part of a team dedicated to providing care to a unique and diverse patient population.

Assignments are full-time, day and night shifts available. Weekend and holiday work may be required. MedFirst also offers a wide range of benefits, including medical and dental insurance, and a 401k plan.

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Job Description:

  • Provide treatment and direct care to inmates
  • Administer medications
  • Maintain patient records

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Job Requirements:

  • Current Virginia or multistate nurse license in good standing
  • Current CPR (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
  • Clean background check
  • Current PPD
  • Negative drug screen
  • Ability to complete the credentialing process in a timely manner
  • One year of corrections nursing experience preferred
