Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Pittsburgh, PA
Location: Pittsburgh VA Medical Center ( Long term Contract 1-4 years)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team on a contract basis. The LPN will provide exceptional patient care to our veteran population, ensuring adherence to established protocols and procedures. This role requires an individual who is compassionate, detail-oriented, and committed to enhancing the health and well-being of patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in accordance with the VA Medical Center standards and policies.
- Assist in the assessment and documentation of patient health conditions using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) charting.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
- Monitor patient vital signs and report any significant changes to the healthcare team.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations and patient privacy practices.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, registered nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care.
- Educate patients and their families on health care plans, procedures, and medications.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
- Participate in continuous education and training programs to maintain nursing competencies.
Qualifications:
- Current state licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Pennsylvania.
- Minimum of one year of experience as an LPN.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) charting.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance and patient privacy practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Work Conditions:
- The position may require standing for extended periods and may involve handling difficult or stressful situations.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required by the facility's needs.
