Job Summary:
The Pittsburgh VA Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team. This contract position involves delivering high-quality nursing care to veterans and their families while adhering to the standards and policies of the VA Medical Center. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, proficiency in electronic medical records, and a commitment to patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in accordance with the VA Medical Center standards and policies.
- Assist in the assessment and documentation of patient health conditions using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) charting.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
- Monitor patient vital signs and report any significant changes to the healthcare team.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations and patient privacy practices.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, registered nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care.
- Educate patients and their families on health care plans, procedures, and medications.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
- Participate in continuous education and training programs to maintain nursing competencies.

Qualifications:
- Current state licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Pennsylvania.
- Minimum of one year of experience as an LPN.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) charting.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance and patient privacy practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Work Conditions:
- The position may require standing for extended periods and may involve handling difficult or stressful situations.
- Must be able to work flexible hours as required by the facility's needs.
- Assignment includes working in the flu clinic at the VA.
