THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON BID AWARD
The Licensed Practical Nurse will perform telephone/receptionist duties with ability to effectively communicate information regarding health services provided and procedures associated with same; schedules patient appointments; maintains administrative files and confidential medical records; types of correspondence, reports, purchase orders for non-HHS supplies; orders office supplies; and performs related health unit administrative/clerical duties. Will assist with basic practical nursing duties within the clinic under the supervision of the Nurse Practitioner on site.
Responsibilities- Assist employees involved in work-related injuries/illnesses in the completion of Worker's Compensation Forms CA-1, CA-2 and CA-2A and issues CA-16's and CA-17's.
- Serve as staff liaison with National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) Safety Office to ensure effective/efficient processing of workers' injury/illness claims.
- Coordinate billing, records, and management of associated laboratory, radiological, and other integrated services necessary for the operation of the Health Unit, and maintenance of employee and associate health and wellness.
- Responsible for running the daily operations of the office either by own direct involvement or by overseeing the work of other administrative/clerical support.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma
- Minimum one (1) year of recent full-time experience as medical secretary/LPN in an occupational health unit in an industrial/science laboratory type of business enterprise or in the office of a physician practicing occupational, preventive, or internal medicine.
- Current LPN license in the state of Colorado
- Current BLS card, or ability to obtain prior to start date
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to type 40 wpm with three or less errors.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word Suite.
