(Archived) PRN/Casual LPN Opportunity in Washington, D.C.
Job Description
STG International is accepting resumes from Licensed Practical Nurses interested in working on a PRN/Casual status to cover shifts in the occupational health clinic at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in Washington, DC.
The clinic operates Monday - Friday during normal business hours.
The LPN can expect to encounter a broad range of conditions ranging from minor to life threatening situations and is responsible for providing professional nursing and emergency first aid. This shall include performing CPR and using the Commission's Automated External Defibrillators for employees and contractors as the situation requires.
In addition to the above, the LPN shall perform the following duties and responsibilities as required:
- Medical Emergencies: An employee is given the attention required to prevent loss of life
- Treatment of minor injuries such as lacerations, contusions, fractures, burns, sprains, etc.;
- Treatment of other conditions such as headaches, vertigo, heat exhaustion, chest pain, back injuries, hemorrhage, stroke, animal bites, rashes, drug addiction, etc.
- Treatment and/or removal of foreign bodies in the eyes or body.
Required Skills:
- Have graduated from a Licensed Practical Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse Program accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC).
- Possess a current, unrestricted license to practice as an LVN/LPN in Washington, District of Columbia
- Possess current Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Must have a minimum of two (2) years of practical nursing experience within the past 3 years.
Must be comfortable working solo as there will not be another nurse or physician present when filling in at FCC.
