Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) – Pediatric Behavioral Health
Thousand Oaks, CA
Overview:
Our well-established pediatric inpatient behavioral health center in Thousand Oaks, CA is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to provide compassionate, structured nursing care to children and adolescent patients. This part-time, Monday–Friday role offers a supportive multidisciplinary team environment and the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with patients and their families.
Position Offers:
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–1:00 PM (20 hours/week)
- Competitive pay: $34–36/hour (DOE)

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform patient assessments and safety checks, documenting findings, care, and treatment (including SOAP notes and physician orders) in the electronic health record (EHR)
- Administer medications safely, monitoring for side effects and documenting responses
- Educate and support families on treatment plans and behavioral health strategies
- Participate in individualized treatment planning and interdisciplinary care conferences
- Monitor patient safety and behavior, intervening to de-escalate situations and maintain a therapeutic environment
- Coordinate with physicians, therapists, and other staff, and assist with appointments, transportation, and admission/discharge processes
Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted LVN license in California
- 1–2 years of LVN experience working with children
- Proficient with EHR systems, pediatric assessments, and medication administration
- Strong communication skills, comfortable working in a structured behavioral health environment with children and adolescents
- Valid driver's license and ability to pass a comprehensive background check
