Overview
$1,500 Sign-On Bonus
This position is for a RN or LPN who will be reviewing the referrals for both hospitals. M-F 3:00p-11:00p. The patient experience will be directly impacted by this position through expediting the admission process. Through the clinical review of incoming referrals, this position will assist in fostering positive relationships with referring agencies
Columbus Springs Dublin and East are a 144-bed behavioral hospital system located in Columbus, Ohio. The hospital provides a full continuum of care for those suffering from a mental health issue and/or chemical dependency. This includes inpatient treatment, partial day programming and intensive outpatient services. Assessment services are provided 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Position Details
This position acts as a liaison between the referral source and the hospital to ensure a seamless transition from the external acute care setting to our inpatient psychiatric hospital.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with referral sources by receiving and processing intake information for potential patients from hospitals
- Facilitates intake process by procuring all patient information necessary to determine criteria based on supportive clinical data, prescribed therapy, and following Springstone patient acceptance criteria policies and procedures
- Verifies health insurance coverage using verification forms
- Performs case management updates for changes in therapy and patient status
- No bedside care
- Once verification is complete and admission criteria is reviewed/approved by clinical staff, contacts referral source to notify of acceptance or denial of referral
- Establishes relationships with referral sources
- Obtains authorizations
- Obtains clinical documentation
- Data-entry and updating patients' demographic information
- Prepares and manages paperwork and documentation for billing and collections
- Resolves patient/payee issues in a timely manner
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing training
- Current unencumbered license to practice by the State Board of Nursing
- CPR Certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact
Preferred Experience:
Previous experience in a health care facility preferred. Experience in patient assessments, treatment planning, field nursing, and communication with external review organizations or comparable entities.
